2006/7

The Church heating was replaced at Christmas 2006 by a new radiator system and last year a new floor was installed. After vigorous discussion it was decided unanimously to lay a new wooden floor similar to the one that was removed and also to relay the tiles in a pattern identical to the previous tiles but to lay them so that they were level with the boards, giving a flat floor from side to side and from the entrance to the church right up to the altar steps. This means that we now have complete disabled access and visitors and members of the congregation no longer need to stumle over changes in level.

The Annual Carol Service was held on Christmas Eve as usual and, also as usual, was well attended with approx 135 in the congregation. The choir stalls were full as were the pews and all the chairs we possess! And still about twenty people had to stand, some in the extension meeting room. Ken and Olga Martin very kindly provided mincepies and wine and about eighty people stayed to enjoy this. The organist was Margaret Gittins.

The Church was as usual beautifully decorated

A slide show of Holy Land pictures was shown before the service
